A message from your co-presidents:
Dear Alki Families:
Welcome back to our returning families! To our new families, welcome to the Alki community! We hope you all enjoyed the fun-filled days of summer. It is with great enthusiasm that we invite you to get ready for an exciting and successful 2016-2017 school year.
With your support, we can continue to make Alki an amazing school for our children. Alki Middle School is a community based on student, teacher, and parent involvement. Your contribution, whether it is your time, knowledge, or resources make a difference. We invite you to become an involved member at Alki. Thank you for helping in any way you can, and showing your children the importance you place on their education. “A strong PTA represents parent involvement and parent involvement represents student success.”
We strongly encourage everyone to renew or start a new Alki PTSA membership. WE would personally like to invite you to be part of that voice by becoming a member and attending PTSA meetings. This gives you a vote (voice) on how your fundraising dollars are spent towards our amazing programs. Alki offers the following to name a few – Back to School Breakfast for Teachers, Beautify Alki to fund projects presented by 7th graders, OMSI integration for 6th graders, and Civil War re-enactment for 8th graders. Our fundraising and volunteer opportunities typically start early in the school year with a fundraiser called the ‘Rock n Run’. Stay tuned for more information on that. We do ask that you join us with you new ideas, and your precious time to continue to make Alki the wonderful place that it is. We are always humbled and inspired by the many volunteers who can offer their time to make Alki PTSA run smoothly.
Welcome back and we look forward to meeting you all,
Lori Jones and Marife Parkin, Co- Presidents
